Preparing shipment files for a route assessment
A route assessment moves faster when your files answer the same questions in the same columns. We ask for shipment identifier, origin, destination, mode segments, and the timestamps you trust most.
Export sixty to ninety days if you can. Shorter windows miss weekly patterns around vessel rotations and warehouse shift changes.
Flag known outages — typhoon days, terminal labour actions, temporary yard closures — in a simple notes column. Otherwise those days look like unexplained outliers.
Remove personally identifiable consignee details before transfer. Lane and timing fields are enough for performance work.
If timestamps use mixed time zones, normalise to Hong Kong time once, then leave them alone. Repeated conversions introduce silent errors that look like early arrivals.
